Christmas plum cake in Bhopal

Plum cake is the cake people buy to give away. It travels, it keeps, and it needs neither a fridge nor a candle. We sell it as a 400 g loaf at both shops — New Market and Chuna Bhatti — alongside a fruit cake in the same size.

The two loaves

• Plum cake — dark, dense, fruit and spice. The traditional one, and the one to choose if you are only choosing one.
• Fruit cake — lighter, with candied fruit through a plain crumb. The easier one for children and for anyone who finds plum cake heavy.

How to order

1. Message us on WhatsApp with which loaf, how many, and the day you need them.
2. We tell you what is ready, the rate for the day, and which shop will have it.
3. Collect from New Market or Chuna Bhatti — both are open 10 AM to 11 PM, every day.

Standard cake orders need a 24-hour lead time. If you are closer to the day than that, ask about rush availability or ask what is on the counter. There is no cart on this website and nothing is charged here.

Ordering for an office, a school or a church

Tell us the count and the date as early as you know them. Quantity changes what we can do on rate, and a large order is far easier to get right with a week's warning than with a day's. If the cakes are going to more than one address, say so at the start — that is usually the hardest part of a bulk order, not the cake.

Both loaves can go into a gift hamper. If you would rather send a basket than a loaf, build a hamper and put the cake in it.

Christmas 2026

Christmas Day falls on a Friday, 25 December 2026. If the cakes are gifts for colleagues or a class, they are needed before people leave for the holiday, so count back from the last working day rather than from the 25th.

Keeping it

Wrapped and airtight, at room temperature. A plum cake does not want the fridge, and plenty of people think it is better a few days after it is cut than on the day.
